Youth Councils

What are youth councils?

Youth Councils provide an opportunity for the territorial leaders to meet and get to know the young people of the territory and for the young people to meet and get to know their territorial leaders. The annual Divisional Youth Councils is scheduled in each division by the Territorial Commander and is conducted by them or their designated representative(s).

The aims of the Youth Councils

  1. TO GIVE OUR YOUNG PEOPLE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR REAL SPIRITUAL GROWTH

This includes, of course, much introspection and deep soul-searching.  It also includes an examination of the meanings and ramifications of true Christian living, and a personal response to the claims of Christ.

  1. TO GIVE OPPORTUNITY FOR PERSONAL COMMITMENT

This includes a presentation of the call of Christ and The Army for present and future leadership.  The need for, and opportunities of, local officership will be stressed and a call for candidates for officership will be made.

  1. TO GIVE OPPORTUNITY FOR FELLOWSHIP AMONG THE YOUNG PEOPLE

Young people have a great need for group relationships.  "Unstructured" time should be allowed for conversation, fellowship, recreation, and getting to know each other.
