COVID-19 Guidelines for the Territorial Youth Institutes
The global pandemic has affected virtually every person on earth. No one is now a stranger to how the pandemic has reshaped habits, lifestyles, the workplace, or school. In 2020, The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory was unable to conduct in-person Territorial Music and Youth Institutes. While we celebrate what God did through our virtual events last year, we are excited to have the opportunities to meet once again in-person in 2021.
Through the use of vaccinations, the risk posed by COVID-19 to public health has dramatically decreased. We strongly advise all delegates and staff to be vaccinated with one of the widely available COVID-19 vaccines. If vaccinated, delegates and staff do not need to practice social distancing or wear a mask. However, we strongly advise unvaccinated delegates and staff to continue wearing masks and practicing social distancing when indoors. We do require that everyone attending TYI be monitoring themselves in the 14 days prior to TYI for any COVID-19 symptoms. If an individual has reason to suspect that they have COVID-19, he or she must remain home and not attend TYI. In an effort to appropriately mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the following guidelines will also be implemented:
- Daily Health Screenings
- Reduced Capacity
- Daily Cleaning and Sanitization
- Handwashing and Hand Sanitizer Stations
- Use of refillable water bottles provided for all in attendance
- Optional Outdoor Dining
Thank you for your support in this effort to again meet in-person for this beloved event and in a manner that ensures everyone’s utmost safety.
